We had a great Memorial Day! First thing in the morning, Shawn tilled our garden while the girls and I cleaned up the weeds and grass. Then we went and bought some new seeds, since I couldn’t find ours. I think I threw them out last year when we thought about moving. After all that we needed a break, so it was time for the fun part of the day. Felicity and Lydia planned a “family outing” for one of their Faith in God goals, including a picnic, activities and location. They chose to go to a hot springs recreation area near here for our picnic. We didn’t swim, but after our picnic we played some Frisbee. Then Shawn and I were able to talk them into miniature golf at a nearby camp area. It was a nice little course and was fun. We then took the back roads back towards the highway and stopped at another golf course to play on their 18 hole putting practice course. That was pretty fun too, but the girls got kind of tired. Felicity stuck with it though and completed the course. For dinner we grilled steaks and parmesan potatoes. After the girls went to bed, Shawn and I planted some beans so we could at least have something started in the garden. We’ll get the rest planted this week. I was so busy working and having fun that I didn't get any pictures.
In other news, Shawn finally broke down and bought the family a Wii. He ended up taking a few of our old/other gaming systems and games into a store that buys/sells used video games so he could get quite a bit of credit to help pay for it. We just have the one game so far (Wii Sport?), but he and the girls have been having some great bonding time playing golf, tennis, baseball, bowling and boxing. The first night we had it I creamed Shawn in golf and bowling, so that was rather gratifying for me. I've played a little since then, but I'm pretty sure I won't be the one logging the most hours. If we get the Wii fit I should definitley try and use it more, because my forearm and bicep already got a little workout from playing the little I have!

Lydia's Ballet
Here is Lydia's ballet. I managed to keep her in the center of the screen most of the time. She really has come a long way and did even better the night of the recital.
Evelyn's Hip-Hop Dance
I just recorded the dress rehearsal so I didn't have to worry about it during the recital. Plus, I could get right up to the stage this way. Evie is the second one from the right. They are doing their robot hip-hop dance. Hope you enjoy!
Happy Birthday!

Happy Monday!
Evie picked out the new blog background today. After working every day last week (I substituted for the school librarian), I am enjoying being home and getting caught up today. By noon I had started the laundry, made a pasta salad for dinner, made rice krispie treats for FHE/dessert, hosted the first of 2 play dates today (Evie doesn’t have school) washed some pots and pans and helped the little girls make some Jiffy muffins. Not bad for a morning's work. This afternoon I have been rearranging some things in my "office" so I can try to get some scrapbooking done this month. It still needs a major "clean sweep," but I got rid of some piles.
On Friday Evelyn's class held a Mother and Me party that was really cute. They sang songs, recited a poem, had us dance with them (the A-Tooty-Ta-Ta song), showed a class video, shared why their mom's are special and gave us paper flowers and #1 MOM necklaces they had made. The older girls each gave me a flower that I will get to plant in the yard and some cards. Shawn took them shopping for me Saturday and I now get to enjoy a Twilight soundtrack from Evie, a new heating pad from Lissy, some iTunes downloads from Lydia, a digital photo keychain from Shawn and some new scrapbooking supplies. They also treated me like a queen yesterday and made all the meals and did all the dishes. I have the best hubby and girls!

Photo Tag - do it now!
This is a fun, HONEST photo tag. Can't wait to see ya'll :) I'll tag... my cousins Janene and Lisel and my friend Becky. And I dare everyone else.... mwah ha ha ha! And in my defense, this is after subbing in the school library all day, after getting the kids to dance, running several errands, back home, kids fed and in bed, and the first time ever using my self-timer. (BTW, I don't think I ever want to "work" full-time again).
Here are the rules:
1. Take a picture of yourself right now. No primping or preparing.
2. Load the picture onto your blog.
3. Tag three others to play.
Remember, no primping! We'll be able to tell if you do!!!
